Hello , so I'm back after a brief break after having completed the Battle Panda 2 Kickstarter.
I took some time to reflect after completing the Kickstarter and how doing this intensely for the past 5 years has affected
my view of what success looks like.
I used to think it was all about getting picked up by a big publisher, winning awards, a movie deal - don't get me wrong, I'd still jump at the chance of having any of those.
But what is more important to me is connecting with people.
Connecting with readers, connecting with my collaborators, connecting others who are walking this path, connecting with my email list and past Kickstarter backers - that connection is something really special.
I've gotten messages
from people who have read my work and told me how much it meant to them, how it changed their day, maybe a joke in there helped lift their day.
When I reflect on that, how stories can affect someone's day, that's really deep, that for me is what this is all
about.
