Hey , okay so after a long Kickstarter campaign, I needed to take some time out to get my energy back, it's crazy just how much effort and mental energy a crowd funding campaign takes.
The Value of being part of monthly Mastermind group
I'm part of a comic book writing club, we meet once a month, if you're unfamiliar with the Mastermind concept, it is where each person in the group takes a turn to be in the Mastermind seat.
- You come with a challenge you're facing,
- the rest of the group ask you clarifying questions,
- the group helps you to explore solutions and
- the group helps you to work out a game plan to address either the challenge you came in with in the first place or the updated challenge you discovered through the process
For me the most important part of that process is actually answering the clarifying questions, this really gets to the 'why' behind everything.
So much so that the game plan that I come away with addresses the real challenge I'm facing, the real challenge which needed me to explore the 'why' with myself and articulate it to others.
In my session, most of the clarifying questions focus on the group trying to understand why I'm trying to accomplish the goal.
In trying to explain the 'why' to others, I end up digging a lot deeper behind the motivations of why I'm doing this myself.
A lot of us are used to explaining the 'what' or the 'how' of the project/initiative we're working on, but not so many people take time out to explain the 'why'.
Yet knowing the 'why' behind the effort you're putting forward is the single most important and powerful thing you could do to get your project/initiative moving.
I'd really love to hear about your projects/initiatives you are working on, best way is to just hit 'Reply' to this email - let's keep this a two way conversation.
If you are up for it, try to start the message with the 'why' and focus only on the 'why'.
It's not as easy as it sounds, it's difficult to speak it out in our own heads, even more difficult to then put it down into sentences in an email.
Whether or not you email it across to me or not, just try to do that exercise, even a few bullet points that you jot down to yourself, no one else ever needs to see it.
It's a really powerful process, you'll see just how many clarifying questions you'll ask yourself if you take it that step further and articulate it to another person.
Tell me your preferred content form - fill in the one minute survey
Thanks again if you've filled out the survey around the type of content you'd like to receive, it's really valuable for me to know what type of content you like and how you prefer to receive the content.
In fact a lot of this newsletter, the content in it and the method I serve it to you is as a direct result of many people taking a moment to share their thoughts with me.
Here is the link to the survey, it only takes a minute to fill it in, I'd love to hear your thoughts.
Thanks and tell your friends too
Thanks again for your support, it is true this is hard to do on my own, I really appreciate every click, every like, every share and every comment that the content gets.
As always tell your friends about the book and
the blog - recommending your friends sign up is the best way for the audience to grow.
The best place to point your friends is to the sign up page where they'll get a free digital art book of Digitopia 1.0 and get to join the community.
Hope you're enjoying the content, stay safe and we'll speak again shortly.
