Hey , I just wanted to drop you the front cover which we completed over the weekend.  

 

The story of covers are really interesting, I've put together a complete write up exploring the different concepts we came up with in the making off article in both the print and the Digital Deluxe versions of the book. 

 

Here is how the cover came together from the chosen concept through to the inks, colours and letters.  

 

The original concept that we landed on was Yale's perceived control over Digitopia.  

 

 

We then made the chess pieces break out of their moulds and by doing so, break the rules of Yale's game. 

 

 

Choosing the right colours adds more depth to the story telling.

 

 

We added in the titles and the credits to make issue 3 cover contrast and complement the two previous books - the three books together make a beautiful set.

I have put together a pre-order page on Gumroad in case you missed the Kickstarter and want to get yourself the complete set of books before I send them to the printer.

 

 

This is the last time I intend to print out the three books as single issue floppies.

 

I'll leave the pre-order page open until I get the physical proof back from the printer.

 

Once I get the physical proof, I will check it, (hopefully) sign it off and give the green light to the printer with the final numbers to print.

Q: What is Gumroad, I've never heard of it?  Is it trustworthy?

 

A: Gumroad is a trust worthy site, it's a place where independent creators have a safe online presence and secure checkout - it offers a credible alternative to Amazon.  

 

 

Q: Will the Gumroad page delay the Kickstarter fulfilment?

 

A: No.  I will fulfil the Kicsktarter orders first, once those are posted I will then start on packaging up the Gumroad books.

 

 

Q: What if I've ordered issue 3 in the Kickstarter and want to add issue 1 and/or 2 through Gumroad - will the books come at the same time?

 

A: As best I can I will cross reference any names and addresses from the Kickstarter page and the Gumroad sales report.  

 

As this is the first time I've used Gumroad, it's probably a good idea to drop me a message either through here or the Kicsktarter page so I can make sure I put everything together in one envelope.  

 

The postage price will increase as the weight of the parcel increases, so I'm hoping the prices level out.  

 

 

Q: Will the books arrive in good condition?

 

A: I learnt my lesson last time using jiffy bags, this time I am using sturdy cardboard mailers to make sure the books arrive in the best condition they can.
