Hey , so here's something new that I'm trying, recommending a book which I think will really resonate with you.
So I finally moved into the 21st century and got myself an Amazon Prime membership*, okay yes, I admit it, I forgot to cancel my free trial.
Prime Reading comes as part of the membership, which means I get to read a lot more comic books on my Kindle app, I'm now reading new books every evening.
My book of the month is...
A couple of weeks ago I read the ' Pride of Baghdad'* which has one of the best descriptions I saw on the Kindle preview pages, check this out for a premise
In the spring of 2003, a pride of lions escaped from the Baghdad Zoo during an American bombing raid.
Lost and confused, hungry but finally free, the four lions roamed the decimated streets of Baghdad in a desperate struggle for their lives.
I'm going to record a video review on the book next week
The book really resonated with me so much that I'll be recording an in depth video review with my good buddy, Bill Coulombe, of the Under The Mask podcast - you may remember I was interviewed on episode 11 of his podcast, if you missed it you can listen to my interview here - http://www.ycomics.net/underthemask/episode11
Bill and I will be deep diving into the the themes and subtext of the book next week.
We're planning on recording the video on Tuesday, I'll be aiming to do the editing and writing up a full in depth blog post on it next week.
I'll drop you an email when it's live, but to warn you in advance it will have lots of spoilers, hence the heads up to read the book* before watching the video.
If the themes in Digitopia have been resonating with you, then you'll enjoy the book and hopefully our deep dive video too.
If this format is something that works, I'll be looking to do more book and movie reviews and deep dives into works that I think you'll enjoy.
*the links marked with an asterisk * are affiliate links to my Amazon Affiliate account. The fact that I'm recommending the books has nothing to do with my Amazon Affiliate account, I only recommend things that I think you'll enjoy and find valuable.
If you purchase the book through my affiliate link then I get 20% off the purchase price in your shopping trip, that revenue goes directly to help fund the next creative project.
If you want to purchase the book by typing it into the Amazon search engine, equally fine, I just want to make sure you have a good read.
Thanks and tell your friends too
I know I always say thank you for your support, it is true this is hard to do on my own, I really appreciate every click, every like, every share and every comment that the content gets.
As always tell your friends
about the book and the blog - recommending your friends sign up is the best way for the audience to grow.
The best place to point your friends is to the sign up page where they'll get a free digital art book of Digitopia 1.0 and get to join the community.
Hope you're enjoying the content, stay safe and we'll speak again next week.
Thanks
Farhan
