Getting a comic book editor on board has proven to be such a shrewd move - you know from my previous emails that surrounding yourself with people who are better than yourself at something is the key to making great books (or any product for that matter).
I'm a big believer of having an editor on the team - some people see it as a
luxury, but I think it's an absolute necessity.
In our two edit sessions so far, Hass has really pushed us to understand the core of the story - the 'why' behind the story.
The questions he asks aren't easy to answer, in fact we've all spent many long hours between edits getting to the crux of the story.
The difference between an editor and the art team, is that though you don't see the editor's work directly on the page - all the questioning and rationale behind the 'why you are writing a story' starts to flow to the artists' to bring it to life in a multi-dimensional way.
