hey, what's the most important step in turning your idea into reality?

I was thinking this week about what is the best way to get any project (creative or otherwise) of the ground, I looked back into my archive and found this gem of article I wrote a while back

http://www.digitopiafilm.com/writing/just-pitch-it-how-to-sell-your-screenplay the article is all about pitching your idea.

So why is pitching your idea so important?
I mean it's not as if everyone you pitch it too is going to take you up on your idea - nor would you want them to.

But by pitching your idea you do the necessary ground work to get your idea 'pitch-able'.

When you get your idea into the form of a pitch, you've have honed your idea down to its core - and by doing so you've understood the 'why' behind your idea.

Now comes the point at which you've got to pitch the actual idea - though this seems scary, what with all the inherent rejection that is involved, actually it's not as scary as it seems.

What if you get rejected?
It doesn't mean your idea isn't any good, it just means that you haven't found the right audience.

Second, you're interviewing the 'pitch panel' as much as they're interviewing you - as much as they may be judging your idea, you should be judging whether they are the right partners for you to be working 'with'.

Have a read through the article and let me know what you think
here's the link again - http://www.digitopiafilm.com/writing/just-pitch-it-how-to-sell-your-screenplay/ - the best place to comment is just below the article itself.

Okay, hope you enjoy the rest of your break.

Thanks
