And then we had a front cover
-----------------------------
hope you're weekend is going/has gone well. Like every week, we seem to be at full throttle, this week the team has been busy creating the front cover of Digitopia - you can see it here

This week's blog post
---------------------
The blog post below it, rather than writing about the process, I actually show you the discussions, the alternative ideas and the WIP images that Simon, Seb and myself put into the page.
I'm a big believer that when you surround yourself with better practitioners (in this case better artists and storytellers), the best thing to do is to contribute your ideas and listen to what comes back.
Have a look at the cover and leave a comment below the blog post to tell us what you think of the cover.
Want to help grow the community?
--------------------------------
There are lots of ways to grow the community, trust me I am working so many channels to do this. Working these channels means that I'm taking time away from the story, and to be completely honest with you, working these channels is both all consuming and exhausting.
I think, you would rather I spent more time working with the story and getting the next set of pages to you.
Can you help?
-------------
Absolutely you can.
It's simple just tell a friend who'd be interested - if you can tell more than one friend that'd be even better.
At the bottom of each page there are 'Share' buttons, click on these and leave a quick message to your friends on whichever social network you are on the most
If you're part of a group who loves comics then post in there too. This is actually a great way to tell people about it.
What's been happening at team Digitopia this week?
--------------------------------------------------
In the next couple of weeks we have a surprise for you, actually it's going to be two surprises.
I'm going to wait on the first surprise and just send it to you when it's ready - if you're enjoying the web comic, then you're going to love surprise #1.
The second one, which I've imaginatively named surprise #2, is actually that we're making a short animated video of the comic book. I'm working with a very talented animator called Alex Hopkins to put together a short trailer of the comic book so far.
It's going to serve two purposes, the first to be a very cool video for YouTube/Vimeo (I will send you the link first - we can even have our own little premiere of it).
The second purpose will be to use as a trailer for our Kickstarter - which Simon and myself have been planning out in detail over the past few months. It's going to be time to make it real hopefully in the coming month.
This week's question
--------------------
Thanks to everyone who wrote me back about when it's okay to live a secret second life, quite interesting takes on this. We have a very erudite audience here and you didn't let me down on this.
Keeping on point in this week's blog post I wrote about how the putting together the front cover took as much work and effort as any of the pages.
So I want to talk about book covers.
Have you a book that you've fallen in love with just because of the cover?
Has there been a book cover that when you look at it, think, 'yes, this totally captures the very essence of the book'?
Tell me, I'd love to know which book covers (or even film posters) have rocked your world.
Extra points awarded for covers for not well known franchises. Obviously we all know the characters from Star Wars and Spiderman, but have there been any stories, in which you didn't know the characters and backstory, where the covers still worked for you?
Want to start from page 1?
--------------------------
Very easy, there's navigation buttons right under the comic itself so you can go to the start from any page, go forwards and backwards one page at a time, there's even a random button so you can read the story in a completely new way if you'd like to.
But here's a link to page 1 to get you started
